I love writing. I really do. But the last two years stole that love from me. Life got hard. Life turned into a big mess. But finally, breathing room. And my love has returned.
I finally got my first book in two years done, Set A Man. And my publisher has changed. I'm now with Sjofn Press, a new
publisher on the romance front. I thought, why not. Go out on the limb.
With both of us promoting like crazy, this will have a great chance. Not
that I didn't love my publisher, but this one is dedicated to romantic and erotica pursuits. A better fit, I think. A new start on a new footing.
I kept meaning to come in here while I was working that first draft and blog about the daily writing. Forgive me for that. I was just so excited that the words were flowing again that I didn't even think about it. I bent my head over the keyboard of the lap top and went to town. But it's done. And the rewrite. And now, the manuscript is off to the "nannies", as I call them. The Alpha Readers, who will look over every aspect of the story and the formatting.
I'm excited but I'm scared. I know it's always down to a matter of opinion, but I trust these people to know what they're doing, what they're talking about. To catch the little inconsistencies that I didn't catch the first time. To tell me what could use a little more and what could use a little less. Suggest where to cut and where to add. They have only the story's best interests in mind. But it still scares me. What if they say it stinks? Hard place to be with such a thing. Even though I want the truth, I still worry.
I love it. I do. I think it's great. I think the plot moves, the romance is there, action and sex. I love it. I just want everyone else to love it too. And recommend to their friends and then their friends recommend to their friends and so on and so on. I don't want much, do I? She asked with a knowing smile.
And I believe in it enough to start book two in the series, To Watch All Night. I'll try to remember to blog that journey. I promise. Until then...
With Love,
Siobhan

Now I'm really back!
I can't believe I took two years off. That does not please me. But I needed the break, apparently.
You know what they say about a body at rest? Well, this body isn't resting anymore. This body is back at work.
I've started the latest, a romantic suspense/thriller titled Set A Man (To Watch All Night). So far, it's entertaining the hell out of me. I even got the first sex scene committed to "paper"--if putting in a word document can be considered "paper"--and managed to turn myself on immensely. The Beautiful Boy loved reaping the benefits of that one.
I suppose I'd better get back to it then. The sooner it's written, the sooner I can start posting excerpts. Even the naughty ones.
With Love,
Siobhan

Hello again, my Bawdy Babes
Look what goodness I have for you today:
Best selling author Siobhan MacKenzie brings Norse Mythology to a new level with her latest novella, Angry Boding.
Strong, beautiful, commanding...she brought even a God to his knees.
Loki has no choice—Odin demands he gain a prophecy from the Seeress, Angrboda, at any cost. He either gets the prophecy or the Allfather has promised unspeakable pain and suffering. Getting the prophecy is hard enough; Angrboda has no love of Asgard. But Loki doesn’t count on falling in love with her. Or having to keep her safe from Odin’s wrath. He must use his silver tongue well this time because he's risking everything for her.
Including his life.

Have you missed me?
Oh I cannot have that. The Beautiful Boy said to me, "You haven't blogged in a while, darling. Don't you miss it?"
I have. Very much. And I thought, what can I blog about? A new story, perhaps? An excerpt of a new release coming up? Yes, that's it. An excerpt.
Angry Boding was originally released in the anthology, Gods and Goddesses Boxed Set. Since my rights are returned to me, I can re-release it in it's original form -- the way I wanted it. So, I think an excerpt. And I hope you enjoy it. And look for the release on September 17, 2015.

From Chapter One
“Stop there!”
He did as told, standing
some ten paces or so from the cottage. How had he not noticed the door stood
open? The voice came from beyond the threshold. He would see who this Seeress
was now. One black boot emerged first, stepping out and followed by a very shapely
leg. Then the rest of her appeared and Loki felt the breath leave his body, his
chest aching.
He stared, confused—she
was no human. The Frost Giants might be humanoid but they were not human. He
knew a Frost Giant when he saw one; they were his people, after all. This woman
had the telltale signs of the Jotnar. The blue tinges to her flesh, the
markings of her brow. What is a Jotun
doing here in the middle of nowhere?
She looked tall, almost
as tall as his own form. He stood six-foot-three-inches as the humans reckoned
it. The top of her head came to his shoulder, he decided. Her hair looked to be
the most delicious shade of red he’d ever seen. It spilled from her scalp like
fire, burning down her back and shoulders to frame her face.
Her face was the most
beautiful sight he’d ever seen, with cheekbones, sharp and high, which he
longed to kiss. Her eyes were the shade of green that mirrored the moss hanging
from the trees. Her lips were full, a shade of coral he’d seen only in Asgard.
The tip of her tongue crept into the corner of her mouth and he felt the
overpowering desire to take it between his lips and suck on it.
She was voluptuous, clad
in a dark leather dress that hugged every curve. Her breasts threatened to
spill out over the neck of the bodice, straining against the hide of it. Her
hips made the garment bell in an enticing way and her ass looked plump, making
his hand itch to stroke it. He wanted nothing more than to bend her forward and
plunge into her from behind.
His cock became so hard
that the mere thought of bending her to his will made it very difficult not to climax
within his leather trousers. He couldn’t move if he’d wanted to, his erection
was so dominant. Odin’s breath, to take her. Right here, right now. He could
barely breathe with the thought.
“You have no business in
the Iron Wood,” she stated. She spoke with such a firm tone, that she made him
flush with desire. She took several deliberate steps toward the end of the
porch, watching him warily.
Loki swallowed hard,
trying to maintain his calm. His chest heaved and his palms were sweaty against
his thighs. He opened his mouth once and nothing came forth but a gasp of
desire. He swallowed once more and tried again. “I am Lo—”
“I know exactly who you
are.” She came down the steps, still walking as if she owned this realm. She
wore no expression but her tone was one of scorn. “You are Loki, son of
Farbauti. Jotun, by birth. Asgardian, by choice. Odin’s mouthpiece and trained
pet.”
He bristled and his
erection wilted away. She knew exactly what button to push. “I am no one’s mouthpiece or trained pet.”
The corner of her mouth
rose and for the first time, her eyes twinkled. “And I repeat that you have no
business here in the Iron Wood. Go back to Asgard, where you belong.”
“I have business,” Loki
replied with his own heat now. “Yes, I am here at Odin’s request, not his order. He sent me—”
“To ask me about the
prophecy; yes I know.” She continued her slow pace of measured steps until she
stood before him, close enough to smell the Jotun marsh blossoms on her skin.
“What I don’t know is why I should
tell you.”
He glared down into her
eyes. “Because the Allfather demands it. Because I demand it!”
Her eyes traveled slowly
down the length of his body, taking in every inch of him, before raising to
meet his gaze again. “I care nothing about your demands. Now, go. This is my realm and I owe Asgard nothing.” She
turned her back to him, walking swiftly back to her porch again.
Loki’s fists were shaking
and he clenched his jaw. No one walked away from him, dismissed him this way. “You stop,” he demanded. “You will stop
and face me. Now.”
She froze in place, turning
her head slightly, so he could see the delicate features of her face in
profile. Her turning head brought her body around and she narrowed her eyes at
him, her lips pressed firmly together. Her hands laid against her thighs, her
fingers flattened against the leather. She stared at him, a hard glare that
would have made a lesser man melt at the sight.
The only vision in his
head was of her, laying back against the skins of his bed with her hair splayed
out in all of its ruddy glory. Naked, her breasts ripe for the taking and his
hands exploring all of the luscious curves of her body. His lips kissing
between her thighs, his tongue tasting the nectar from her pussy. Damn it, he
was getting hard again. He wanted to punish her insolence by ramming her hard.
Loki took a deep breath.
“Now, then. I did not come here to pick a fight. I came here to get this
prophecy and take it back to the Allfather. Nothing more.”
“And you’ll destroy me if
I don’t give it to you, I suppose.”
He shook his head. “No. I
am not a destroyer.” He chuckled under his breath. “I’m known to create a
little mischief and chaos when the mood strikes. Which is quite a bit.” He met
her gaze again. “I am sorry. I started this on a wrong note. I make no demands
for the prophecy. But I do ask it. Please?”
Her eyes fluttered up and
down his body again. For a moment, he flattered himself to think she might be
just the least bit attracted to him as well. Why not? He knew he remained
attractive to others; he knew his face was considered handsome, almost
beautiful. Maybe he could use this to his advantage. Loki smiled brightly,
turning on his charismatic charms. “Please?”
She relaxed her hands,
her posture becoming less stiff. Her lips eased their tension as well and her
eyes cleared, the narrowing gone. She huffed, a snort from her nose and one
corner of her beautiful mouth rose. She nodded and gestured towards the
cottage.
He gestured in return and
moved in step to follow behind her, into her home.

Billionaires and Soldiers -- and back from the breach
Breathing room is always a good thing. Seems that things have taken off with a vengeance and I don't have time to breathe. Let alone blog. I feel badly about that. I know that so many Bedmates have followed along, keeping me afloat for so long, and once again, I have neglected you. I shall have to remedy that immediately.
I have been busy, that's for certain. Work on No Sooner Loved had to stop for a time because I was invited to join in on a few short story anthologies. I must say, I am having a grand time of it. And I am getting back to NSL because I love that fantasy. I know you've loved it too as you've read along with the excerpts.
The first anthology is titled Stranded With a Billionaire and my story there is Falling.
They survived the plane crash, but they might not survive one another in Fallen.
After a plane crash strands sole survivors, Alexander St. Thomas and pilot, Grace Allyn, in remote, storm tossed Alaska, the sparks truly begin to fly. Prickly, defensive and traumatized, their discord soon ignites another kind of fire. Entranced by her, Alex is determined to keep both Grace and himself alive...and together.
The second anthology is titled Hot Soldier and my story in that one is Suspicious Minds.
Jordan Blair is the prime suspect in the death of the man who caused him to lose his leg in Afghanistan – his former sadistic commanding officer. Recently promoted MP, Lt Rachel Carmichael, is in charge of the case and she is sure she has her killer in her sights. But there’s something about the wounded warrior that changes her mind. Rachel is drawn to him in spite of her suspicion. Proving his innocence might just be the first step towards healing…and love.
These two have turned me into an International Best Selling Author! And that pleases me no end, I must confess. As soon as we get Wilde Mountain Time released, this should take off completely! I am so excited.
And we're working Wilde Mountain Time as I type this -- within the next 4 - 6 weeks, my publisher says. Both in ebook and in print! Very exciting.
With more to come, I promise I'll be here more often -- with excerpts and news and fun tidbits that are just for you. And of course, a naughty picture or two....

A new snippet from _No Sooner Loved_
I am so in love with this story. It's indescribable how much of me I've managed to put inside of the story. It could be the love story of my Beautiful Boy and I. It's not, not really. It's mostly fiction. But it could be.
So, I've decided to share another snippet. I don't think I need to set this up. I think you can find the context of the scene. Enjoy!
Well, there is more to that scene. I guess I better get this done so you can find out what happens next.
With love,
Siobhan

“I never got them,” he said, sounded dejected.
“I never heard from you so I thought you didn’t want to see me ever again.”
“That would never happen, Nathan.” She licked
her lower lip, watching him. “I thought about you every day, missed you every
day.”
His eyes darted up for a quick glance, then
back to her hand. “I couldn’t stop thinking of you. God, I’ve missed you.”
“Nathan, I am so sorry.” She couldn’t face him
at all, but if she didn’t say this, it would gnaw at her forever. “I said
something horrible, something I never meant. God, I’d rather tear my own heart
out than hurt you.”
“Justyn, I—”
She whirled away from him, trying to reign in
her frustration. “Please, God, please,” she pleaded, her hands balled in fists against
her stomach. “Tell me what to do. Tell me how to fix this. Tell me how to make
this right. I’m so lost here. Tell me what to do.”
He took her by the shoulders, lifting her gaze
to his. His voice betrayed his own agony, his own tears frozen on his lashes. “Justyn,
I don’t care how old you are. I don’t care about that at all.”
She touched his cheek and he leaned his head
against her palm. “You don’t?”
“No. I just want you. I only want you.”
He bent his head to her, claiming her mouth as
he kissed her hard. She threaded her fingers in his hair and kissed him back
with abandon. One of his hands crept to the small of her back, the other
pressed against her derriere, pulling her tighter against him. Oh my God was the last thing in her mind
as she felt the length of his erection, how much he did want her.
“I
can’t,” he gasped, trying to pull away from her. “I can’t do this.”
She held on, not letting go no matter how hard
he tried. After a few attempts, he just stopped. “Where do you think you’re
going, you beautiful man? I’m not letting you go again.”
“I can’t, my girl, I can’t.”
“Why?” she breathed against his cheek. “Tell me
why. You owe me that. God, Nathan, I want you so badly it hurts inside.”
“Because I can’t,” he answered, turning his
head away from her. “Justyn…. Shit, Justyn, I’ve never been with a woman.
I’m…I’m….”
She let him go, surprised at the admission.
“You’ve never made love with a woman?
Anyone?”
The pink tinge on his cheeks was quite
endearing. “I’m still a virgin, damn it.” With a roll of his eyes, he added,
“I’m not gay, damn it. I keep telling you that and I wish you’d finally believe
me.”
She swallowed the giggle and took his hands in
hers. “I do, my love. I do. It’s just that – you mean to tell me that with all
of those girlfriends you’ve had, all those women from your movies that you’ve
dated, you’ve never slept with any of
them?”
He shook his head, his cheeks still glowing and
getting pinker. “Um, no, I never….”
“You’ve never pleasured yourself?”
“Of course I have,” he grumbled. “I know how to
do that. I just…I don’t know…how to…to….”
“Well, you know how to fix that, don’t you?”
She took him in her arms and raised her face to his. “Besides, it’s not like I
have had that many lovers either, you know.”
He frowned at her. “You’re kidding.”
“Nope.” She kissed
him softly. “I told you two things about me – the first was that I am very much
a one-man-woman.”Well, there is more to that scene. I guess I better get this done so you can find out what happens next.
With love,
Siobhan

I have returned to the Land of the Lovers
November has flown by and I've had my nose buried in this new book. I started writing it as part of NaNoWriMo -- wonderful site to get you in the groove and get you writing. Worked wonderfully and this new book, No Sooner Loved, is coming along quite nicely.
I've never really been one to do this sort of thing but a friend suggested that a soundtrack would be helpful. I thought, why not. Put my favorite songs on there that would reflect the characters. So, I've put together a list and a dear friend put the list together for me on her Grooveshark account -- I must have one, I think.
If you'd like to listen, just click here. And do tell me what songs you would add. I may just add them to my own list.
I Need To Be in Love, The Carpenters
More To Love, Minnutes
High Wind Blowing, John Denver
You Know It's True, Jules Larson
Thank You, Dido
Smooth Operator, Sade

Breaking Up is Hard to Do, Neil Sedaka
